Frequently Asked Questions
Does a password make the ZIP secure?
The tool uses traditional ZIP password protection, which is not strong encryption. File and folder names are not encrypted. Follow your organization’s rules for sending sensitive information.
Can a forgotten password be recovered?
This tool cannot recover it. Before creating a protected ZIP, check that the recipient has software supporting password-protected ZIP files.
Will the ZIP always be smaller?
Some content barely compresses, and ZIP metadata can increase the size. Check the result after creation.
Are there size limits?
Check item and size limits at the top of the tool. Even within those limits, large files may exceed your device’s available memory or processing capacity.
